The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bloody melee early Tuesday morning that sent four people to area hospitals, including three who were suffering from stab wounds.
Deputies went to the 7200 block of Black Creek Lane in Frederick just before 1 a.m. for a report of a disturbance, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Cpl. Jennifer Bailey said.
They found about 50 people involved in a large fight, she said.
Deputies discovered three men, ages 18, 21 and 23, and a 17-year-old boy suffering from injuries. Three of the four had been stabbed in the upper torso, Bailey said. All four were Frederick residents.
The 17- and 18-year-old were flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma, where the juvenile remains hospitalized, Bailey said.
The 18-year-old was treated and released, as were the other two men, who were taken by ambulance to Frederick Memorial Hospital.
People began leaving as deputies arrived, Bailey said. Deputies established a perimeter to secure the scene and question potential witnesses.
Several people were detained for questioning, but no arrests were made.
Bailey said investigators are still trying to find out who may have been involved in the fight and what role they played, as well as determine the circumstances that led to the fight.
“A lot of information is still out there, and there are a lot of people who have not been identified who were attending the party,” Bailey said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Dan Romeril at 301-600-3996.
