WASHINGTON – The search for a man trapped in a Landover building after a roof collapse moves into its second day with the use of large cranes and bulldozers.
Mark Brady, spokesman for Prince George’s Fire and EMS, says very large cranes have been brought in to go over the rear wall where the ceiling and roof have totally collapsed. Firefighters and engineers will have total access to the area where the worker is believed to be.
The cranes are going to remove the debris, which will allow bulldozers to get into the building.
Montgomery County search and rescue dogs have been in the warehouse on Cabin Point Drive, but still haven’t been able to pinpoint where the missing worker is. Marc Bashoor, Prince George’s County fire chief, says the rescue could take days.
The unidentified man became trapped Thursday night after a forklift accidentally hit a storage rack. This led to the roof collapse at Recall, a document storage warehouse.
