WASHINGTON – Bee Gees co-founder Robin Gibb died Sunday after a long battle with cancer, Rolling Stone reports.
Gibb was 62 years old.
In a statement to Rolling Stone, Gibb’s spokesperson wrote:
“The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”
Gibb had successfully battled colon and liver cancer two years ago. Recently, a secondary tumor had developed.
Gibb with his twin brother, Maurice, and their older brother Barry formed the Bee Gees.
Maurice Gibb died in 2003 of complications from a twisted intestine.
