As high school seniors approach graduation, the time has come to decide on a college and a new tool may help them — by telling them how much it will cost.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau offers the cost comparison tool. Curious potential scholars can plug in grant and scholarship offers, whether they’ve served in the military and the colleges to which they’ve been accepted to receive an estimate of how much they’ll owe upon graduation.
The average student attending a private school is expected to owe more than $1,600 dollars A month for ten years after graduation. For public universities, the average student can expect ten years of paying about $900 a month.
