Md. realtor fights off sexual assault

WASHINGTON – Prince George’s County Police are going door-to-door in the Suitland neighborhood telling residents to be vigilant after a sexual assault took place in the area.

At 7:40 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a 911 call from a woman who said she is a realtor and had been previewing a home in the 2300 block of Dupont Avenue when a man surprised her in the basement.

Police say the suspect attempted to sexually assault the victim but she fought him off. He then ran from the home, according to police.

The suspect is described as a black man standing 6 feet one inch tall with a short hair cut and a slim build. At the time he was wearing a blue or black T-shirt and black tennis shoes.

Prince George’s County Police are also investigating a second sexual assault case they say is unrelated to the attack on Dupont Avenue. The second case happened on Greenlawn Drive, which is not located in the same neighborhood.

They did not provide any more details about the second assault.
