ARLINGTON, Va. – Finding an affordable place to live is never easy in the Washington region, especially for those who are young and just starting out. That’s why Arlington County will be running a program called “Housing 4 Hipsters” aimed at young people.

The county’s housing division says it’s aimed at young professionals or those who hire young professionals and is not reserved for those with low income.

There are 6,500 housing units in Arlington that qualify for a rent price based on an individual’s income. And there are low interest loans available as well that will help with down payment and closing costs.

Housing 4 Hipsters will be held next Monday, March 12, between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. at Arlington Rooftop Bar and Grill, 2424 Wilson Boulevard.

Prospective renters don’t have to live in Arlington to qualify for the assistance. They simply need to want to move to the county.
