WASHINGTON – A lot of passes were dropped at Sunday’s Super Bowl (performers Madonna and M.I.A. were not exempt), but none seem to have reverberated as widely as the post-game jabs from quarterback Tom Brady’s supermodel wife.
While leaving her private box and heading toward the elevator, Gisele Bundchen got her fair share of heckling from the nearby crowd. And for the Brazilian Victoria’s Secret alumna, it went a little too far.
“You (have) to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball,” Bundchen retorted over her shoulder. “My husband cannot f******* throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.”

Unfortunately for Brady and Bundchen Brasele, this wasn’t the first time the supermodel’s Super Bowl musings caught the attention of the news media.
Someone in the apparently exclusive email leaked the message Bundchen sent to friends and family last week asking them to pray for Brady going into the big game.
“This sunday will be a really important day in my husband’s life. He and his team worked so hard to get to this point and now they need us more than ever to send them positive energy so they can fulfill their dream of winning this super bowl. …” she wrote, according to tabloid the New York Post, which didn’t say how it obtained the message. “I kindly ask all of you to join me on this positive chain and pray for him, so he can feel confident, healthy and strong. Envision him happy and fulfilled experiencing with his team a victory this sunday.”
To be fair to Brady’s wife, Patriots receivers did drop good passes on some critical plays. This was particularly true for the wide-open throw to Wes Welker at the Giants 20-yard line with just over four minutes left. A reception there could have given the Patriots a chance to make it a two-possession game.
But in the end, Eli Manning and the Giants took home the Lombardi Trophy.
