A man was shot early Saturday during a fight in downtown Frederick, according to the Frederick Police Department.
An officer was on patrol about 1:15 a.m. near South Market Street and Citizens Way when he saw two people fighting outside Griff’s Landing. The officer ordered the two to stop fighting while other people tried to pull them apart, police said.
The officer heard a gunshot and saw an injured man as the group separated, police said. The officer stopped the other person who had been fighting. The injured man fled and was found on Broadway. He was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital and released.
Police detained two people at the scene. The investigation continues.
