Car stop leads to drug arrest in Frederick

Undercover Frederick police officers arrested two men on suspicion of possession of marijuana following a traffic stop in the area of Baughmans Lane and Key Parkway, the department reported Sunday.

Officer First Class Kevin Meyer and Cpl. Angela Nibert were in plain clothes and in an unmarked patrol car at about 12:30 p.m. Friday, police said. They stopped a Chrysler Serbing after the driver failed to keep it right of center.

The officers approached and smelled marijuana coming out of the car, police said. They searched the car and found 18 grams of marijuana.

Officers arrested Raymond D. Figueroa, 18, of Frederick and booked him into the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia — a digital scale and rolling papers.

Officers booked Eugene Rojas, 18, of Frederick into the county jail on a charge of possession of marijuana.
