Bulova re-elected to Fairfax Co. Board of Supervisors

FAIRFAX, Va. – Sharon Bulova easily won re-election to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.

Fellow Democrats John Foust, Catherine Hudgins, Jeff McKay , Penny Gross, Gerry Hyland and Linda Smith also won election to the Board of Supervisors, as did Republicans Pat Herrity and Michael Frey.

Incumbent Republican John Cook finished a few hundred votes ahead of Democrat Janet Oleszek, and there could be a re-canvass there.

Voters re-elected Sheriff Stan Barry.

In the Fairfax County School Board race, incumbent Iryong Moon finished as the top vote getter in the at-large race. He will be joined on the board by at-large winners Ryan McElveen and Ted Velkoff.

Other winners include Megan McLoughlin, Pat Hynes, Tamara Kaufax and Elizabeth Schultz, as well as incumbents, Dan Storck, Kathy Smith, Jane Strauss, Sandra Evans and Patty Reed.

A $252 million bond issue to renovate 19 schools passed in Fairfax County, with 70 percent of voters supporting the issue.

All election results are unofficial.
