RIVERDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Mervin James’ 20 points helped Rider defeat Manhattan 104-62 on Sunday send the Jaspers to their sixth-straight loss.
James also contributed five assists for the Broncs (10-16, 7-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Allen Powell scored 15 points while shooting 6 for 8, including 3 for 4 from beyond the arc, and added seven assists. Corey McKeithan had 14 points and was 5 of 7 shooting (3 for 4 from 3-point range).
Jaden Winston led the Jaspers (5-19, 2-13) in scoring, finishing with 15 points. Daniel Rouzan added 14 points and three steals for Manhattan. In addition, Shaquil Bender had 13 points and two steals.
Both squads play Friday. Rider hosts Iona and Manhattan hosts Marist.
