Newman scores 19 in Western Kentucky’s 79-69 victory over Eastern Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, KY. (AP) — Brandon Newman scored 19 points as Western Kentucky beat Eastern Kentucky 79-69 on Sunday night.

Newman also contributed nine rebounds and five assists for the Hilltoppers (6-3). Don McHenry scored 18 points, shooting 7 for 14, including 3 for 4 from beyond the arc. Khristian Lander shot 5 for 14, including 4 for 9 from beyond the arc to finish with 14 points.

The Colonels (3-3) were led by Leland Walker, who recorded 25 points. Devontae Blanton added 22 points and seven rebounds for Eastern Kentucky. In addition, Collin Cooper had nine points.
