WASHINGTON — American University’s women’s basketball team won the Patriot League tournament over the Naval Academy 58-49 in a game that came down to the final minute.

The win punches their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.

This was the second Patriot League title for the American University’s women’s team, their first since 2015.

It was also the 26th win for the Eagles, who set a single season record this season for wins under head coach Megan Gebbia, in her third season at the helm.

American will find out who they play during the Women’s NCAA Selection Show on Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m.

Navy, who had also set a single season school record for wins with 25, will also be watching to see if they’re going to the big dance.
