Tiger at vacant warehouse creates stir

WASHINGTON — You expect to see tigers, bobcats and wolves in zoos, not vacant industrial plants. But they were found at an abandoned Packard auto plant in Detroit.

The owner of the facility, which is to be redeveloped, knew there would be a photo shoot there, but didn’t know about the animals. The photographer did not have the proper permissions for the exotic animals.

Andy Didorosi, one of the crew members on the shoot, tells The Detroit News the tiger ended up stuck on a staircase.

Didorosi was asked to bring in a weed-whacker to scare the tiger into moving, but that didn’t work.

A trainer managed to get the big cat back into a trailer, but not until the crew went to lunch.
