Fleetwood Mac classic re-enters Billboard charts thanks to meme

WASHINGTON — A Fleetwood Mac classic has re-entered the Billboard charts more than 40 years after it was originally released thanks to an internet meme.

The 1977 No. 1 hit “Dreams” is set to hit No. 16 on the Hot Rock list this week, according to Billboard.

The meme was created, presumably, to show the classic rock band’s moody music is actually danceable. The meme features the Golden Girls dance line and the Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite marching band from Alcorn State University, a historically black college in Lorman, Mississippi.

The meme has been retweeted more than 131,000 times.
