WASHINGTON — Part of an overhang came crashing down at the emergency department at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

It happened Monday outside the entrance to the emergency department in the 8900 block of Rockville Pike.

The ceiling was under construction when it collapsed.

No injuries were reported, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, which sent its Technical Rescue Team to the site.

The entrance remained open and was not affected.

The emergency department of the medical center is part of a large campus east of Rockville Pike and north of downtown Bethesda.
