WASHINGTON — Police are investigating what they call a case of hate-based vandalism at a Maryland high school football field.
The Montgomery County police say that a swastika and images of male genitalia were drawn with a caustic substance on the football field at Quince Orchard High School, in North Potomac, on Oct. 13.
The police say a dark-colored four-door sedan drove into the school’s parking lot shortly after midnight Oct. 13; it parked, a door opened, and soon after, the car left. They added that the car’s driver’s-side headlight may be misaligned.
Police are asking anyone who knows anything about the incident to call them at 240-773-6084. You can also call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS. You don’t have to give your name, and Crime Solvers is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
The police say they’ve been in contact with the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington and The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington about the incident.
