WASHINGTON — Two men who police say broke into a private school in Chevy Chase and stole 25 iPads were captured by surveillance cameras and investigators hope someone can help identify them.
Footage from the Lycee Rochambeau French International School on Woodbine Street show two men peering into the school’s windows about 8 p.m. on June 23. Montgomery County police say they broke into a first floor classroom window and stole the iPads, which are worth a total of $7,500.
Investigators also believe that the pair were involved in the theft of a BMW 328i from a home in the 9800 block of Raleigh Tavern Court, which is several miles away from the school in Bethesda. The key to the car was left inside and the door were unlocked, police said.
The stolen BMW was found in D.C. the next day with clothing inside that matches what one of the burglars was wearing on the surveillance footage.
Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the two men is asked to call police at 240-773-6700 or submit a tip to Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
