POTOMAC, Md. — Two big flames flicked on the front lawn of a stately Potomac home as Montgomery County fire crews burned off propane from a leaking 1,000 gallon underground tank.
The gas leak was reported at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Roads around the home in the 9800 block of Meriden Road were closed overnight while crews assessed the situation.
The fire department says there is no risk to the public and are monitoring the controlled burn.
The propane must be burned off before the gas company can assess the cause of the leak.
The home’s residents were allowed to stay inside the home while firefighters monitored the burn.
