WASHINGTON — More than two dozen people were taken to the hospital Thursday morning after the vans they were riding in wrecked in Silver Spring.
One of the passenger vans rear-ended the other just before 9 a.m. in the southbound lanes of U.S. 29 just south of the Intercounty Connector, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.
Twenty-three children, between the ages of 12 and 14, were riding in the vans and were taken to the hospital. Two adults were also transported, fire officials said.
All were expected to survive.
The foreign students are visiting Maryland on a college tour, officials said.
