Md. delegate arrested for trespassing, indecent exposure

WASHINGTON — A member of the Maryland House of Delegates is facing charges of trespassing and indecent exposure stemming from an incident on June 27.

Del. Ariana Kelly, D-Montgomery, had reportedly dropped her children at her ex-husband’s home in Bethesda.

According to court documents, she was upset to find her ex husband’s fiancee at the home, and she wouldn’t leave.

Her attorney Luiz Simmons says things escalated from there with Kelly demanding to talk to her ex-husband, Barak Sanford.

According to court records, Sanford was recording Kelly on a cellphone when she exposed her breasts. When police arrived, they advised she could face a charge of indecent exposure.

She was arrested.

Simmons says Kelly will “aggressively dispute” the charges against her. The trial date is set for August 13.

Kelly represents District 16, which includes Montgomery County.
