WASHINGTON — Montgomery County detectives have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman with learning disabilities and they are searching for anyone else who may be a victim.
Police arrested 23-year-old Warren Matthew Giddings of Waldorf on Tuesday after they say he sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman he met in February in Rockville.
In February, detectives began investigating a sexual assault of a vulnerable adult with cognitive learning disabilities. The victim met Giddings through an online dating website, police say.
After several online and text message exchanges, police say Giddings and the victim agreed to meet at the victim’s home. During the meeting, the victim was sexually assaulted and police say Giddings stole a tablet computer from her home.
Giddings has been charged with three counts of first degree sexual assault, three counts of second degree sexual assault, three counts of vulnerable adult abuse and theft of less than $1,000.
He is being held on a $150,000 bond.
Detectives are asking anyone who believes she may be a victim of inappropriate contact by Giddings or anyone who has additional information to contact Montgomery County Police at 240-773-5050.
