PHOTOS: Caps fans celebrate in epic fashion

The Washington Capitals raised the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history after a 4-3 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 5. Fans took to the streets in celebration — see some highlights.

WASHINGTON — Fans went wild as the Washington Capitals made history and captured the Stanley Cup for the first time ever.

Inside Capital One Area, they screamed. They waved rally towels. They hugged strangers.

Inside the arena, fans sang “We Are the Champions.”

Outside the arena at the All Caps Watch Party, fans cried. They danced in the streets. WTOP’s Kristi King was there.

Some of those folks stayed out all night on the District’s streets.
