ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) — A fisherman may have fallen through the ice in a Maryland river.
The Baltimore Sun reports that people had noticed a hole in the ice on the Patapsco River on Friday. There was a boot and a tackle box nearby. One person said the items had not been there two hours before.
Maryland Natural Resources police searched for the man along the river in Patapsco Valley State Park, which is near Ellicott City.
Officers searched near a dam but were unable to locate the fisherman. Ice near the dam was 4 inches thick on Friday but was melted by Saturday.
No cars were left unattended at the park. Officers have checked with other jurisdictions but haven’t found any missing-person reports.
