Md. Gov. Hogan to eulogize father on Saturday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Gov. Larry Hogan plans to eulogize his father at a funeral this weekend.

Lawrence Hogan Sr.’s funeral will take place Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Annapolis. Interment will be private in the city of Frederick.

The former Maryland congressman died last week following a stroke. He was 88.

The elder Hogan served three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1969 to 1975. He represented Maryland’s 5th congressional district, which included Prince George’s and Charles counties near Washington.

In 1974, Hogan became the only Republican on the House Judiciary Committee to support all three articles of impeachment against then-President Richard Nixon.

He also served as county executive of Prince George’s County from 1978 to 1982.
