WASHINGTON — The wrong kind of “snow” has landed a woman in hot water after she allegedly tried to smuggle more than seven kilograms of a substance that field-tested positive for heroin through Dulles International Airport Saturday morning.

According to court documents, Customs and Border Protection agents found the suspected contraband concealed in the suitcase of Nelly Davila, 39, when she arrived from Mexico City.

She was arrested and charged with importing heroin — a schedule I controlled substance — into the U.S.

If convicted, Davila faces a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and a mandatory minimum of five years.

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the federal courthouse in Alexandria.

Davila is a U.S. citizen but lives in Mexico.
