DC man fatally struck by car in Loudoun Co.

WASHINGTON — A D.C. man died after he was struck by a car while crossing the road in Sterling, Virginia, a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office statement said.

Andres Zambrana, 65, was crossing the road in the area of Sterling Boulevard and E. Beech Road at 2:25 a.m. Sunday when he was struck in the crosswalk by a driver who had the green light, a witness said.

The driver remained at the scene and called 911. Zambrana was taken to a hospital, where he died.

The case is under review for charges while police wait for results of the toxicology reports on Zambrana; Loudoun County police believe alcohol was a factor with him.
