WASHINGTON — A 23-year-old woman who police say shot a man during a domestic dispute in Sterling, Virginia Thursday morning has been taken into custody.
Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kraig Troxell says the shooting occurred around 3 a.m. at home in the 400 block of East Dartmouth Drive.
Police were searching for Emily C. King, but say she was taken into custody Thursday afternoon after she was located at a grocery store in Nokesville by the Prince William County Police Department.
King has since been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. She is being held without bond.
The victim, who has not been identified is in serious condition, but the injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Further details on King’s relationship with the man were not immediately known.
