Part of Dulles Airport’s main terminal reopens after investigation

WASHINGTON — Part of Dulles International Airport’s main terminal has reopened after an investigation into an unattended item.

The airport’s main terminal arrivals and departures level closed at about 5 p.m. for investigation of the item discovered by a canine. The all clear was given and the public was allowed back in the area at about 6:45 p.m.

Several airline ticket check-in counters and baggage claim carousels were affected. Affected ticket counters included: United, Lufthansa, Avianca, Austrian, Jetblue, Alaska and Porter. Consider using online check-in prior to airport arrival, if practical.
