Woman killed in Silver Spring identified

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a Washington-area man called police and told them he had killed his girlfriend at their home.

Police say Anthony Miguel Strong, 50, was taken into custody without incident outside his Silver Spring home Tuesday morning. Montgomery County police said in a news release that officers found Chaunya Michalyn Blackwell, 43, dead inside the home with apparent trauma.

Blackwell’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine cause of death.

Strong and Blackwell shared the Bradbury Manor Court home, according to police, and appeared to be dating.

The case remains under investigation.

Police ask that anyone with information contact Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
