ARLINGTON, Va. — Hundreds of bicyclists attended the funeral of a former Navy SEAL who was hit by a car while biking in Bethesda earlier this year.

Retired Captain Tim Holden was laid to rest Friday morning at Arlington National Cemetery months after he was killed.

Holden was riding on Massachusetts Avenue in August when a driver fell asleep behind the wheel and struck him, killing the 64-year-old Bethesda man.

To honor Holden, bicyclists gathered at the Lincoln Memorial and rode across the Memorial Bridge to the cemetery to attend the funeral.

Holden leaves behind his wife Pamela, five daughters and three grandchildren.
