WASHINGTON — A group of runners can register for the Marine Corps Marathon beginning Monday afternoon.
Active duty and reserve members of the military can register for the 26.2-mile race beginning at noon Eastern time Monday.
Members of the military can run at a discounted rate, too. They have a 15 percent discount and pay $106.25.
When the limited quantity of military entries is filled, the active duty/reserve registration will close.
The marathon’s online “lottery” for the public is March 13 until March 22. The 2015 race field is limited to 30,000 participants, so the lottery helps select the runners.
Registration for the lottery does not guarantee an entry.
The 2015 Marine Corps Marathon — its 40th event — is scheduled to take place Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015.
