Caps, Wizards playoff ticket prices won’t break many banks

WASHINGTON — Fans hoping to see playoff action at Verizon Center might find it surprisingly easy this year.

As of Friday morning, the cheapest ticket on the resale market for the Wizards’ NBA playoff opener against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday at Verizon Center was $36, according to TicketIQ.com, which tracks the secondary ticket market. The cheapest resale ticket to Game 2 on Wednesday was $32.

The team also offered similarly priced tickets online.

The Capitals, who are playing the Toronto Maple Leafs in their first-round NHL playoff series, also have tickets available for sale directly. The cheapest resale tickets to Game 2 of that series (set for Saturday) were priced at just over $100 on Friday.

The average asking price for all first-round Wizards home games on the resale market was $266, according to TicketIQ as of Friday. The average asking price for first-round Capitals home games on the resale market was $405.
