1 dead, 1 injured after crash in Howard County

WASHINGTON — One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a car crash in Columbia, Maryland, Tuesday morning.

Two cars crashed near the intersection of Guilford Road and Oakland Mills Road at around 6 a.m., Howard County police said.

Two people were taken to the Howard County General Hospital, where one of the drivers was pronounced dead. The other driver is in stable condition, police said.

The roads have reopened after Howard County police asked people to steer clear of the area.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
