WASHINGTON — A grand jury indicted a man after a five-month investigation by Howard County, Maryland, police showed he caused a single-vehicle accident that killed one person and injured three more.
Karl Tomanek, 29, was charged with negligent homicide and driving under the influence for a wreck that killed one person and injured three others five months ago in Mt. Airy, Maryland.
Police say Tomanek’s Ford F-350 crossed the center line and crashed into a tree near a ditch.
James Dejordy, 26, Clarksville, Maryland, was in the front passenger seat at the time and died during the crash. Tomanek, Dejordy and three other occupants were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle upon contact.
