The roads outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, the state with 10,000 lakes, served as the road test bed for the new Genesis GV80 Coupe, the latest addition to the Korean automaker’s impressive luxury car and SUV lineup.

According to Genesis, “The GV80 Coupe effortlessly maximizes utility and sportiness with a distinctive design package, encompassing a dynamic exterior and a sporty, high-tech interior, complemented by a 3.5-liter gasoline turbo 48V electric supercharger (e-S/C) engine.”

GV80 Coupe Exterior

Genesis’ “Two-Line” theme starts up front with LED two line headlamps, continues with two line side markers, and end at the rear with two line LED tail lamps.

When viewed from the side, the arch-shaped Parabolic Line spanning the body and the low, sloping roofline are strong statements of the dynamic exterior design.

At the rear, the GV80 Coupe features a unique design with LED surface-emitting rear combination lamps and a wide integrated auxiliary brake light on the tailgate. The roof-mounted rear spoiler is functional and looks great.

GV80 Coupe Interior

The interior of the GV80 Coupe features a meaty D-cut steering wheel and unique carbon garnish patterns and seats with coupe-exclusive patterns and stitching further contribute to the refined design.

A 27-inch-wide OLED display integrates the multimedia screen and the center touch screen controls HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), audio, mobile phone integration and other functions.

Key features include AM/FM/XM Radio/HD Radio, Cloud Profiles, Connected Routing, Dynamic Voice Recognition, OTA updates, Android Auto & wireless Apple CarPlay, and an optional Bang & Olufsen 18 Speaker, 1,400 Watt, 14-Channel Amplifier all controlled via a 27” integrated OLED screen.

GV80 Coupe Performance

The GV80 Coupe offers two gasoline engine choices, including the gasoline 3.5L V6 Twin Turbo with 48V electric supercharger (e-S/C), outputting 409 horsepower. The standard all-wheel-drive system is programmed for rear-wheel power bias in dry weather modes. A Sport + drive mode, launch control and sport stability control mode are additional performance goodies.
