WASHINGTON — It’s hard to top a nice cold glass of iced tea to beat the heat during the summer.
With the temperatures rising, Starbucks is promoting “Free Tea Friday” by offering customers a free 12 oz. Teavana Shaken Iced Tea at participating locations on July 14 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
“We realized we could appeal to our tea customers looking for ways to customize their tea just as coffee drinkers do with their espresso beverages,” said Melynda Cheng, who developed the tea with Megan Droz for Starbucks. “Unlocking tea from sweetness and honing in on the flavor was one way to achieve this goal.”
Teavana Shaken Iced Tea is one of several new flavors of tea that will be available year-round at Starbucks stores in the United States and Canada.
If you’re looking for something to eat with that tea, Krispy Kreme is also offering a dozen doughnuts for just 80 cents.
