One McDonald’s (MCD) is serving up endless french fries

This is not a drill: A remodeled McDonald’s (ticker: MCD) location in St. Joseph, Missouri is giving away all-you-can-eat french fries, reports The Kansas City Star. To quote the hit Tony Award-winning musical “Hamilton,” “The world will never be the same.”

This “McDonald’s of the Future” restaurant, owned by Chris and Karri Habinger, will feature perks atypical at traditional McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S. These include customizable burgers and sandwiches (i.e. you can add guacamole and maple bacon), a dessert bar, table service and a three-story play place. Evidently, this could be fun for the whole family.

The all-you-can-eat french fries perk, which gained national notoriety from its announcement in April, is available for those that order a burger or chicken sandwich through an interactive kiosk. The Kansas City Star notes that the all-you-can-eat french fries bonus is “at least for a couple of months.”

The Habingers had to halt new orders on opening day — Aug. 4 — at approximately 1:30 p.m., since its 100 employees couldn’t meet the demand of a crowded dining room and play area, not to mention an intense drive-thru line.

McDonald’s could certainly use some “lovin’,” if you will; MCD‘s stock price has been flat for the year. The company recently announced it would eliminate artificial preservatives from part of its menu, and earlier this year expanded its all-day breakfast menu.

It’s unlikely if one franchisee’s efforts to draw consumers will pay off with investors, but french fries lovers have to be hoping this particular perk will be copied by franchises across the country.
