WASHINGTON — A man who searched for and downloaded hundreds of child porn videos faces five years in prison after he was sentenced Friday.
Gabriel Lin, 25, of Fairfax, Virginia, used a peer-to-peer file-sharing network to find and download the videos, court documents said. He also stored over 10,000 images of children being sexually abused on electronic devices that he kept in his home.
Prosecutors said some of the saved material showed children as young as infants and toddlers.
In a press release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia said, “This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.”
