WASHINGTON — A dozen bus riders were taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after a passenger bus and a pickup truck collided in southern Fairfax County.
All 12 people hurt in the crash were on the bus and suffered non life-threatening injuries, Fairfax County police said.
Earlier, police said ten people were taken to the hospital, including one who was believed to be seriously injured.
The crash was reported just after 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Ox Road and Hooes Road in Lorton.
All three lanes of northbound Ox Road, also known as Route 123, were closed at Hooes Road for the crash investigation for several hours. The road completely reopened after 11 a.m.
A photo tweeted by Fairfax County Police shows that the bus involved in the crash was a Greyhound bus.
