WASHINGTON — The high-profile case where a former Fairfax County police officer fatally shot a man in 2013 has been delayed.
The trial for Adam Torres — the former Fairfax County police officer accused of murdering John Geer as other officers negotiated with Geer at his Springfield home — will now be in April.
The judge granted the defense’s request Tuesday over the prosecution’s objections.
Torres’ trial was supposed to start next month.
Torres was indicted this summer — about two years after the shooting.
He was fired by the police department a few weeks before that.
The case has sparked changes in the Fairfax County Police Department.
