WASHINGTON — A trio of music legends are on Capitol Hill this morning for three different causes.
Barbra Streisand is advocating for heart disease research with her Women’s Heart Alliance.
Cyndi Lauper is advocating for homeless youth through her True Colors Fund.
And Judy Collins is advocating for suicide prevention, leading up to a June 10th fundraiser with the Congressional Spouses for Suicide Prevention and Education.
Collins stopped by WTOP to discuss her lifelong battle with and victory over alcohol addiction and depression. She maintained her sobriety when her only son committed suicide at age 33.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention gave her its “Survivor Award” in 2000.
