WASHINGTON — If anyone knows horror, it’s Stephen King.
The prolific author has had his share of books adapted to the big screen, from “Carrie” (1976) to “The Shining” (1980) to “Misery” (1990).
Now, he’s lending a glowing endorsement to Guillermo del Toro’s new movie, “Crimson Peak.”
King tweeted his affection this week (Warning: contains explicit language):
Was treated to a screening of Guillermo del Toro’s new movie, CRIMSON PEAK, this weekend. Gorgeous and just f*cking terrifying.

He then elaborated with another tweet:
CRIMSON PEAK electrified me in the same way Sam Rami’s EVIL DEAD electrified me when I saw it for the first time way back in the day. — Stephen King (@StephenKing) March 16, 2015
The film stars Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain.
It arrives October 16, 2015.
