‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5 to air simultaneously worldwide

WASHINGTON — HBO’s “Game of Thrones” has become a global phenomenon.

But over the first four seasons, fans outside of the United States couldn’t watch the show live as it aired on television here in the U.S.

Now, this will no longer be a problem, as HBO has announced that Season 5 will air simultaneously worldwide, according to The Verge.

The move will reportedly help HBO battle piracy.

It will also prevent global “Game of Thrones” fans from reading spoilers online, posted by their American counterparts.
