WASHINGTON — Federal prosecutors have dismissed the charges against eight Inauguration Day protesters, according to a Wednesday court filing.
Six defendants who were scheduled to go on trial June 25 and two others with future trials had their multiple felony and misdemeanor charges dismissed on June 13.
The prosecutor cannot refile charges against the defendants, as the dismissals were made with prejudice.
Several hearings in the cases of the defendants are set for Friday.
There have been no convictions in the cases for the Inauguration Day protesters.
Of the 234 people who were arrested during the Jan. 20 demonstrations, only 39 still face charges.
