WASHINGTON — After 48 years of business, one of D.C.’s oldest bars will close its doors.
In a Facebook post Sunday, Jody Taylor, owner of the Black Rooster Pub, said the establishment’s lease is up and will close in May.
The pub opened in 1970 at 1919 L St. NW.
“It is hard to leave home,” said Taylor in his Facebook post. “Lot of fun was had by all for 48 years but it’s sadly, time to go.”
