WASHINGTON — One person was seriously hurt following a crash that left one car overturned in Northwest D.C. Friday evening.

The incident occurred at Connecticut Avenue and Yuma Street around 5:30 p.m., just a few blocks north of the UDC Metro station.

A driver of one of the cars is seriously injured, D.C. Fire and EMS said. Three other people were in the same vehicle and suffered minor injuries.

Another three adults involved in the crash were assessed by EMS and declined further treatment.

D.C. Fire and EMS say at least three vehicles were involved. The four people injured were in one car which crashed into a van.

The four people injured have been transported, while the driver of the van stayed at the scene.

It is still unclear who is at fault for the crash. Connecticut Avenue has been shut down in both directions as police continue their investigation.
