WASHINGTON — Another noose has been found on the National Mall, this time near the National Gallery of Art on Saturday.
Sgt. Anna Rose from U.S. Park Police says the noose was discovered around 3 p.m. Saturday. It was found on a lamppost in the area of 3rd Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
Park Police continue to investigate the scene.
This noose sighting is the third one on the National Mall. Previous nooses were found last month inside the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture and near the Hirshhorn.
Editor’s note: A previous version of this story stated that the National Gallery of Art was a Smithsonian. It is not and the story has been changed to reflect that correction.
