Trade a lucky charm for a chance to win Nationals playoff tickets

WASHINGTON — It’s a superstitious game, so the Nationals are embracing Lady Luck and asking fans to share their good juju ahead of the postseason game against the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday.

“You can bring anything at all; anything you think will send good luck to the team,” said Valerie Camillo, chief revenue and marketing officer for the team.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, fans who turn in their good luck charms can enter the Center Field Plaza to grab a prize bag.

“Hidden inside are all sorts of great things — promotional items, postseason merchandise and 11 lucky fans are going to walk home with a pair of tickets to this weekend’s games,” Camillo said.

Fans can also watch the team practice in the Budweiser Brewhouse until 1 p.m.

There is free parking in Lot C and the event itself is also free.

“There’s nothing like postseason baseball,” she said. “Our fans are more engaged this time of year than ever. Events like these keep them engaged and excited.”

On Thursday, the racing presidents will visit the Mega Market at Welburn Square in Ballston, Virginia, on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to take photos with the racing presidents, and there will be giveaways, games and contests, according to the team.
