Uber driver’s SUV stolen as he stopped to pick up passenger in DC

WASHINGTON (AP) — Police say an Uber driver’s SUV was stolen while he was trying to pick up a passenger in Northeast Washington.

WRC-TV reports that (http://bit.ly/2cuJDpg ) the Uber driver stopped to pick up a passenger shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday. Police say the driver got out of the car to help the passenger with luggage when he was approached by three masked people who demanded money.

Police say the man ran into the nearest house and the masked people took off in the vehicle.
